Midhurst Camera Club – the year so far
We’ve had three excellent visiting speakers – Jon Nicholson in September gave a very interesting talk on documentary photography. Our speaker for October, Mike Eddowes, was unfortunately taken ill and Alan Abercrombie stepped into the breach and showed us his excellent and “gritty” street photography images.
Our speaker at the end of November was Chris Weston with his presentation “Animals on the Edge”; not only did he show us some amazing images of animals ‘up close and personal’ but his passion for conservation made it a very informative and moving evening. His main message being that governments – worldwide – should make animals worth more alive than dead, sighting the Chimpanzee project in Rwanda as a shining example.
Our print and DPI competitions have been won by Clive Bennett (Midhurst), Judi Lion (Trotton), Tony Young (Easebourne), and Russell Baker (Midhurst).
We have our annual Christmas Social evening on 14th December when we will be treated to a presentation by our Social Secretary of her summer months in the Far East, a fun quiz and a chance to get to know our new members.
