Midhurst Camera Club rounded off a very successful 2009-2010 season on Saturday, 22 May with the Annual Dinner and Prize Giving at the Cowdray Golf Club.
We have had another very successful season with a lot of new members bringing our membership up to the highest ever at 65. The standard of work from many of the ‘new’ members has put the ‘old’ members on their toes this season with every round of the League Competition being won by a different member. The overall winner was Hilly Hoar (Petworth), second Judi Lion (Trotton) and third Tony Young (Easebourne).
We had some very interesting speakers during the year on such varied topics as the art and psychology of everyday photography, photo journalism, contemporary news photography, freeing the spirit (landscape), and an insight into photography in the Armed Forces
We are holding our second public exhibition during the Madhurst Festival over the weekend of Saturday 28/29/30 August. We will be at the Methodist Hall on Saturday (10.00-16.00), Sunday (12.00-16.00) and Monday (11.00-17.00).
Our new season commences on 8th September with an illustrated talk by our chairman on her photographic progression through the camera club. We have a very full programme of speakers, competitions and workshops and all details can be found on our website. On Wednesday 17th November we are welcoming back Clive Nichols for an illustrated talk on Flower and Garden Photography which should be of interest to gardeners and photographers alike.
